Middle Fork John Day -- trip #3 of 2009

I remember how quickly I adjust to living and working outside in the high mountains. It makes my spirit happy ..... I am easy and comfortable.

GABBY, MISSY AND GRIFFIN MOVED BACK TO OREGON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-- makes my heart happy --

I returned from the Middle Fork John Day field work trip and fell straight into deep summer fun of family, weddings, and a couple of Oregon's west-side rivers (skinny-dippen, of course!).

July 30: Spontaneous family reunion/dinner/weekend at my brother Jon's house here in Eugene. We had about 50 people for dinner -- folks traveled from MI, FL, and different parts of Oregon to be here. Good times!
Aunt Nancy (Lind) Cooper and Aunt Janice (Lind) Shelley!!

The next week -- weekend was all about our good friend's wedding. The events seemed to last the entire week......................until the ultimate party on Aug 8

The beautiful bride (Marina) and Groom (Dan); Maid of Honor (Kristen Bowman); Best Man (Steve Witten); Masters of Ceremony (Dave M. Peterson and Pollyanna Lind)

.....and friends and family from around the globe!

July8-13 - Ruben/Forester Visit

Allison, Jeff, Billy, and Daisey came for a visit -- all the way from Minneapolis. It was an indescribable treat to have these very dear friends in town.

We caught up with good friends, ate yummy food, danced some poi (with fire), went to The Hill & climbed the Rock, walked through the forest and climbed trees, picked raspberries, played in the parks, checked out Eugene's Saturday Market, and simply had a soul-full of laughter and connection. We are blessed!!!

WATER MAIN!

June 30 - July4

The water main to our house busted. I had to jack-hammer up a big section of my driveway, dig a ditch from water source to house, and re-plumb it all. Steve is in the middle of harvest (10+ hour work days) so Dad came up to help with all the hard-clay digg'en and plumb'en -- he kicked ass! as usual.

Success!! water was turned back on at 3pm on Saturday (6/4).

After catching up with family and work, I'll be burying the line and doing some landscaping.

Friends - wedding & birthday celebrations

June 25-29

Honored to perform the wedding ceremony of dear friends Matt & Sandra D. at the Edgefield Brewery outside of Portland.

Then off I went up the Columbia River Gorge to find my dear girlfriend Elissa -- it was her birthday.

Food, fantastic company, and beautiful landscapes were the goals. Accomplished!

Not bad to be doing survey work in the beautiful mid/upper Middle Fork John Day River valley. Greenhorn mountains in the distance.
