Chris --

Chris M & Pollyanna -- Nov 08

Missing my girlfriend Chris M today!!!
She has followed her heart and future to Virginia............

It sure was a treat to have in her in town for a week or so this month. She was here to close-up her data collection in the Sprague and to meet with her committee members. Working towards that PhD ----- just the dissertation left to write. I believe in you Chris, and the work you do. Hoping for many more opportunities for our paths to cross throughout our life time.

Chris M. -- UO Campus, Nov 2008

Even far away, you are an inspiration and shiny light in this world. Thank you so much CM! Just knowing you are out there makes me feel good.

Happy Birthday Steve

NOVEMBER 17th!!!!

It is always such an honor to celebrate the lives of those we love.
Steve had a long massage and a small gathering of friends for food/drinks over the weekend. On his day (Monday) I took him out to dinner at Cafe Soriah for yummy food. We stopped at the import automotive shop on our way home to check out the beauties through the brightly lit windows.

Autumn Continues

A crisp and sunny autumn has blessed the northwest this year. It is mid-November and still vibrant patches of color dress trees and the ground below them. Usually many storms ladened with hard rains and gusty wind dance heavy across this part of world during this season --- but this year is more calm. The days grow shorter as winter approaches but no biting freezes yet.

For us living here this means that the bounty of the fall continues for us. Eugene's farmers market is still going strong -- three days a week with rich harvests of sweet peppers, honey, potatoes, carrots, beets, hardy greens, squash, broccoli, onions, and so much more. Lucky we are!

I often think of autumn and spring as the seasons of color ......... and this year's autumn has proven to be just that.

THE CLAN

Ode to the Clan --

It is a clan of women that are intelligent, radiant, witty, alive, adventurous, inspiring, supportive, loving, honest, accepting, healthy, strong, and free................ you all know who you are. We are each unique and splendid in our own ways.

Some of us gathered in Portland in early November to shower love and support on to our Tina and her Kevin as they prepare for the arrival of their new baby.

Tina carries not only new life in her but a light of goodness that is so strong you can see it from far far away and feel it across many miles.

Tina with her heart a-glow.

A sisterhood such as this is life-long. And I am grateful beyond words for the amazing women I am honored to call friend.

Beads Beads Beads --- Al Lind

My grandfather spent the last 30+ years of his interesting life collecting, selling, trading, and enjoying beads. Through these beads he connected with many people and many landscapes. Not only in the transactions that he undertook but in the history of transactions that the antique beads in his collection undertook many many many years prior to passing through his hands.

This year, five years after my grandfather's passing, my parents organized and displayed a portion of his collection for a private showing and sale. It brought many friends and family together --- just as these beads had done so many times before.

My cousin Curtis and I had helped our grandpa in the past at events -- so it was quite a treat for both of us to help out behind the counter for this event. I think we both had moments of memory and a few tears in our eyes that day. I know I could hear Al Lind's voice from time to time when I looked at certain beads.

Hallows-Eve

I LOVE dressing up!
and I love dancing --- so its the "not to miss" Neil B. annual Halloween dance party for me.

Every year this party draws in a great group of folks and incredible fun costumes. This year I actually won the "best costume" award............which is not easy in this witty creative group.

Here are a few shots of some of the haps that evening.

Pollyanna as "the black ninja" -- inspired by House of Flying Daggers

Neil B. as flamboyant Elton J.

Elissa P and Jon D as the Indian and her cowboy

Miguel as an absolutely amazingly well done Columbian soup opera star

JO (Jeremy H) the plumber danc'en it up!

Many other peeps in fantastic costumes attended --- photos of them can be found through Neil B (if you are lucky enough to know him).
